Ok, is the vocal assistant can do this work? To answer this, you need to make the difference between the vocal assistant device, and the vocal assistant software. On your vocal assistant device, you are running a vocal assistant software. On the vocal assistant device, you can run the smart home application.
Ok, but why you don't just install the smart home software on every vocal assistant? First because vocal assistant makers do not provide smart home software right now. Second, we do not need multiple smart home application running, but we need multiple vocal assistants, one per room.

Here few examples:
3:00 am, everybody is sleeping, the smart home application noticed it, because you have the right sensors. The alarm got disabled, the living room moving sensors is alerting, but the light is off. Somethings is wrong, the smart application wake up the owner and offer him to call emergency number. The smart application opens the light in the living room and try to interrogate this person. The smart home application can start the camera on the television to record a video.
After few days of using your new connected coffee maker, the smart application notice that soon after the bathroom light turn off, the coffee maker starts. The next day, after the bathroom light turn off, the smart home application will initiate a conversation with you and offer you to start the coffee maker for you.
In winter, you open a window to get fresh air, you forget it and you go to work, the application will notice the temperature drop and will notify you. You do not need a connected window.
If your co2 detector goes on, the application can try to clear the air by opening range hoods and windows.
